New Zealand Botanicals – Rongoā Māori
Rongoā is the Māori term for medicines traditionally produced from native plants in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Skilled in the usage of these herbs and plants, tohunga (medical practitioners) made tonics and preparations, and also used massage, incantations, prayer and water therapy in their healing practices.
Drawing on this indigenous wisdom, Methven Shower Skincare® products incorporate three New Zealand botanicals known for their restorative effects on the skin.
A plant traditionally used to soothe and calm the skin; it is an important herb for skin health.
The gel from the Harakeke leaf promotes skin health, improves skin moisture and is known to help settle irritated skin.
Parts of the Kowhai tree are known for their cleansing and soothing properties. Its bark has traditionally been used to soften, calm and provide relief to dry, itchy skin.
