Methven Satinjet® Tahi wins Design Award Gold Certificate [NZ]
Just weeks following the announcement of a new CEO and a company name change from Deva to Methven UK, the company is celebrating more good news after Satinjet® Tahi was awarded a Gold Certificate for Product Innovation at the prestigious Designer Magazine’s Design Awards last month.

Judged by an expert panel of judges including Alan Crawford, architect and founder of the Crawford Project; Linda Clayton, freelance interiors journalist; Renee Mascari, Chief Executive of the KBB National Training Group; and award winning interiors designer Diana Yakeley, Satinjet® Tahi won the award for the exciting combination of its striking architectural design and unique Satinjet® twin jet technology.
Methven UK CEO, Steve Lee, comments: “We are passionate about delivering exceptional showering experiences that are strong on design and still environmentally conscious. Striking design and sustainability are core company values and a primary focus of all Satinjet® showers. We are delighted to have won a Design Award Gold Certificate for Product Innovation.”
Designed with ergonomics and ease of use in mind, the sophisticated Tahi features an overhead drencher; a two-function handset; a large capacity, adjustable shelf system; and, a sturdy footrest to make leg shaving effortless and comfortable.
The Satinjet® twin jet technology delivers a superior performing shower with just nine litres a water a minute, resulting in impressive savings on water and energy of up to 40% with every shower taken, subject to individual water and heating systems.
The twin jets work by angling two jets of water to collide to create a soft, wide reaching spray with thousands of tiny droplets of water per second, thereby eliminating the ‘cold spot’ often experienced with the needle-like water delivery of some conventional showers.
The gentle water delivery makes Tahi – and all Satinjet® designs – safe for everyone to use, including the very young, the elderly and the infirm, or anyone with sensitive areas/skin.
Tahi can be teamed with any shower valves in conjunction with a diverter and is suitable for domestic and commercial settings. Tahi requires high pressure for optimum performance.
The Satinjet® range of showers has won numerous UK and international awards including the Chicago Athenaeum 2005 (shared with Apple iPod and Audi A6), the 2005 Design EX Awards in Australia, the 2005 Savewater Awards in Australia, the 2005 NZ Best Awards, Savewater! Awards® 2005, the 2008 UK Waterwise Marque and the 2009 Self Build Product Innovation Awards UK (highly commended).
Steve concludes: “We will continue to find new solutions in design and technology innovations to save water and energy and at the same time delight our customers with a unique showering experience.”
