Meeting the standards

The requirements of the Consumer Information Standards (Water Efficiency Regulations 2010) are based on AS/NZS 6400, the joint Australian/New Zealand Standard for Water efficient products – rating and labelling. This specifies tests for water efficiency and functionality to determine the information to be placed on product WELS labels.

Methven and WELS
Methven NZ tapware and showerware have been tested to meet the NZ regulations. All our Australian products come with Australian WELS labels where
WELS has been compulsory since 2006. These labels are similar to NZ WELS labels and the products will continue to be sold in NZ .
