    Alison Barrass

    Alison joined the Board in June 2012, and was appointed Chair in August 2017.  With over 30 years’ experience at major international FMCG companies including PepsiCo, Kimberley Clark, Watties, Goodman Fielder and most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Griffin’s Foods Ltd, Alison brings a broad range of skills to the Methven Board.  With an extensive marketing career and broad experience in business transformation projects, she has worked across both privately owned and publicly listed organisations.  Alison is also a Director of Spark NZ, Heilala Vanilla, Rockit International, Lewis Road Creamery, and Tom and Luke Limited.

    David Banfield

    David joined Methven in January 2014 as Group CEO with the specific aim of leading a turnaround of the business. He started his career in retail at J Sainsbury plc, before joining Brita, leading their UK and Irish business for 11 years and subsequently, as Global Commercial Director based in Germany. David has significant international experience, and has a passion for turning cultural and market understanding into commercial success. He is focused on developing a world-class team delivering world-leading products and services manufactured in New Zealand to discerning consumers around the globe. Methven's business transformation plan Fit for the Future, is designed to deliver a scalable operating infrastructure and be a catalyst to grow sales towards their June 2020 target of $130 million.

    Richard Cutfield

    Richard has been a Methven Group Director since March 2001, having led the management buy-out of Methven from Australian interests, and serving as Chairman until July 2008.  Richard is a professional director, business strategy advisor and investor. Until recently, he headed the private investment vehicle of Most Excellent Holdings Limited, owner of international branded nursery products company phil&teds, having previously served as phil&teds CFO and COO.  Prior to joining phil&teds in 2009, Richard spent 15 years as an Executive Director of Pencarrow Private Equity Ltd, a leading New Zealand based private equity investor. Richard is a shareholding Director of Formway Furniture Limited, a Director of Goodnature Limited, and a member of the advisory boards of Method Recycling Limited and The Playground Centre.

    Steve Tucker

    Steve joined the Board in January 2017. He is currently Deputy CEO and an Executive Director of Gallagher Group Limited, also a global leader in innovation.  With an extensive career in finance, business management and strategy, Steve has a passion for the role that brand and design play in company success.  In addition to holding directorships with various Gallagher Group subsidiaries around the world, Steve is also a Director of ArcActive Limited, Apps On Farm Limited, and Durolla Products Limited.  He was previously a Councillor and Deputy Chairperson of the Waikato Institute of Technology.

    Tony Balfour

    Tony joined the Board in October 2017. He has extensive global retail and eCommerce experience with a strong track record in a diverse range of industries.  Tony’s most recent executive role was General Manager (Markets) for Icebreaker Clothing with responsibility for the company’s global business units in New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, Europe and Asia as well as the development of the company’s rapidly growing eCommerce and retail business units. Prior experience includes senior roles in successful online recruitment sites Monster.com and Seek.com. Tony also spent nine years at Nike in senior general management roles in the USA, Australia and Asia-Pacific regions. Tony is also a director of The Warehouse Group, Silver Fern Farms, Real Journeys, and Les Mills.

    Shelley Cave

    Shelley joined the Board in April 2018. She has extensive legal, capital markets and finance experience across a broad range of industries, following a long-standing legal career as a partner with Simpson Grierson. Her corporate law background has given her a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, stakeholder/shareholder expectations, and public accountability. Shelley is a board member of Government Superannuation Fund Authority and an independent director of Delegat Group Limited, and is a former board member of the Financial Markets Authority and the Securities Commission. Shelley is also a director and co-founder of The FoodPath NZ Limited, which creates travel guides for New Zealand artisan food experiences.
